El Día de la Madre (Mother’s Day) in Argentina is a big deal. This Sunday 21st October
families share a meal with their special mothers, give gifts, or treat mom to a spa day, shopping trip or other celebratory event. If you want to give mom or mom-to-be a break from the house this year, take a look at the following ideas for enjoying Mother’s Day in BA.
Lunch or Brunch with Mom
Nothing says “thank you” to mom quite like a brunch or lunch at a luxury hotel or classy
restaurant. BA has a whole host of luxe meals on offer this weekend. The Sheraton Buenos Aires offers a Mediterranean buffet for $275 pesos per person with drinks and entertainment for the kids. Hotel Emperador’s restaurant Maximus puts on a hot and cold buffet for $330 pesos, including wines and a champagne toast. Mothers receive a gift from Revitalift de L’Oreal Paris and children under 3 go free. InterContinental Buenos Aires provides a $370 peso lunch buffet (kids under 5 go free) with a live show, entertainment for children and gifts for the moms.
For a less expensive brunch, take the kids to Casimiro where they can make mom a gift,
play and have fun while the rest of the family relaxes At Cante Pri, bar de chicos, kids can chow down on milanesas, noodles, and homemade hamburgers, and play games and puzzles, while adults enjoy pastas, sandwiches, light dishes and drinks. Casa Mua, café/ restaurant and creative space for kids, is open from 9am on Sunday for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.
If you’re looking for an Afternoon Tea the Alvear Palace Hotelserves tea, pastries and cakes with live music for $220 pesos per person.
